Nicotra Racing First Team Ever to Finish One-Two in Oswego Classic
John Nicotra Racing – led by top supermodified
driver and chief mechanic Otto Sitterly – closed out its fifth year in
operation with a fairy-tale-like International Classic Labor Day weekend
at Oswego Speedway.
The dream weekend featured Otto’s second Bud
Classic 200 triumph with a dramatic, last-lap pass on teammate Mike
Lichty, who was driving the No. 6 Nicotra super for the first time.
Otto and Lichty crossed the stripe one-two and
etched Nicotra Racing even deeper into Oswego Speedway record books as
the first team ever to sweep the top-two positions in 55 years of the
International Classic.
Other 2011 highlights included three regular
season feature wins for Otto, a third-place finish in Oswego points and
Chris Perley’s sixth-place Classic finish in a third Nicotra super.
